Deltona History
In 1962 the Mackle Brothers brought 17,203 acres of land in Volusia County and planned development for a community and named the area Deltona. The first people came to reside there in April of 1963. By 1970, Deltona had 4,868 residents. The community was officially incorporated in September 1995. Deltona Parks and RecreationDeltona’s parks offer many activities for community members and visitors. Deltona’s parks encompass over 112 acres of land. The city offers summer youth programs, youth sports for boys and girls, adult sports, middle school field trips, senior citizen programs, adult day trips, instructional activity classes, after school programs, and more.
